This is what the pageant programme says about Gratitude: Gratitude WY 97, Lieutenancy of North Yorkshire; coble boat built in 1976. Gratitude represents the coastal heritage of North Yorkshire and comes from Whitby, where Captain James Cook set sail to discover Australia. She has visited Europe for many maritime festivals including winning best-presented vessel in Brest. She was shipped to Australia for the Bi-Centennial celebrations as a result of the Captain Cook connection. She is often used for fund raising by the RNLI Sea Cadet Corps The Royal British Legion and The King Georges fund for sailors.
