Dickdonkin > You can't see this so well in my photograph but what's happening here is a three-way struggle for food. The pelican has done all the work, diving on a shoal of minnows. Now a black-headed gull wants a piece of the action  and just under the surface there's a big bone fish that has learned to home in on the beak for any minnows that slip out of the sack. I know anglers who will aim their flies at this  huddle to try and get a bonefish. Not to be recommended since you wouldn't want to hook a bird
